Our ladies were due to play Everton on Sunday, I think, but I believe that has been postponed. I can only assume a couple on here aren't sticklers for detail

Re: Team vs Everton
As tempting as it may be would not be playing Antonio for longer than 45 mins. Bring on at HT maybe?

Fabianski
Dawson Balbuenna Ogbonna
Coufal Rice Soucek Johnson
Lanzini Bowen Benrahma

Why would this be called off? There isn't a huge outbreak in Merseyside, and wasn't Ancelotti pissed their game against City was called off?

Re: Team vs Everton
There's no news on the game being cancelled this evening so I hope it goes ahead but if not, it'll be better for our squad that Antonio has more time to recover...

Re: Team vs Everton
I had a look for news on tomorrows game and didn’t find anyone saying the game was off.
I hope the game goes ahead, because I’d like to watch some football tomorrow.
Maybe if Everton have a covid depleted squad it gives our tired men a chance.

Aka Ernie, I was tempted for that front 3, Bowen, Fornals, Benrahma, I think it could work well, but in the end I went for Lanzini in place of Fornals.

Yep, Exile, no one owns the thread, but it’s nice to have a logical selection and a bit of analysis, discussion to kick things off. I appreciate that.

Re: Team vs Everton
Yes apparently COVID issues at Everton. Good fortune this game being called off. They are fresh from a weeks break and we look Jaded. We can hopefully play them more rested with a fit Antonio.

Bowen ------ Soucek ----- Rice -------- Fornals
---------------------- Yarmalenko ----------------------

I realise Haller will be picked not Yarmalenko but to start the game, assuming Antonio gets 30 mins, give the Ukrainian a chance in the central role might be worth a go?. Ok, he is a wide player, not that quick but he does at least move a bit, got good technique and control of a football , good vision / awareness and most importantly is not the "Stagnant" Haller ( as described by Jenas yesterday - I thought at first he had struggled to describe him and used stagnant instead of static - but on reflection its a much better word, rancid would work too and festering). The "Festering Haller" :-)

Re: Team vs Everton
We need to rest our players, but as we are well clear of the drop zone, a big part of me would rather rest star players in league games and put out full strength in the FA Cup.

41 years of hurt, FFS.

Re: Team vs Everton
I'd leave Dawson in he will deal with calvert lewen better than diop and maybe balbuena as well aerially.

Mex - I appreciate the vote of confidence but I can't exactly claim ownership of these threads. I don't want to start them too early but sometimes somebody just gets in before me.

Whatever line up we go for please leave Haller tied up on the coach

Re: Team vs Everton
I agree Sven that in an ideal world there would be no resting but do we know what the current condition of the players are? If any one of them is not physically up to it or is carrying a knock would you play them regardless?

Re: Team vs Everton
No resting
After Everton we don’t have a Premier league match til Burnley at home on the 16th.
Rice and Soucek will be given a two week break then.

I wouldn’t start Antonio just yet, but hopefully he gets on a bit earlier.

I’d like to see us go back to a back 5 with the 3 players up front that have been most on form in my opinion.

Exile, I understand there is not much control of these things, but I’d appreciate it if you post the next team for thread.
